Coaching is an interaction between coach (certified in coaching and its processes) and the client (also known as coachee) to work toward the client's specific personal or professional development. Coaching is predominantly facilitative in nature. A coach uses questioning technique techniques to facilitate client's own thought processes in order to identify solutions and actions rather than takes a wholly directive approach. A coach helps the client in setting appropriate goals and methods of assessing the progress in reaching those goals.

Coach uses various methods such as one is to one training, facilitating, counseling and networking. Coaching as a process is gradual. To derive the desired benefits, coach and client need to interact and track the progress over a period of time.
